This is a modestly-priced community close to shopping and has been honored by the National Council on Senior Housing as the “Best Active Adult Community in the Country.” I recently listed a 1,700 square-foot, one level, two car garage single family home on Derby Run Way in Heritage Hunt and met several of the former owner’s neighbors. What they liked about Heritage Hunt is the availability of many different floor plans, including several with basements.
Everyone I met seemed very sociable. Each had made several upgrades to their homes. I take that as an important sign they like living there and intend to stay there. The home lots are well maintained (photo) with lots of walkers on recent Friday and Sunday afternoons there. As many communities do, buyers pay a one-time “capital contribution” fee to the home owners association of $3,300. Annual golf membership is $2,700 for one golfer and that gets you unlimited play. Even non-residents can join for a small annual fee and pay the roughly $60 greens fee with cart per round on the weekends. Go to www.heritagehunt.net to learn more including what you get for HOA fee of $275 per month. (The developer’s web site is similar (www.heritagehunt.com) but is now out-of-date.
Address & Phone: 6901 Arthur Hills Drive, Gainesville, VA 703-743-2000. A knowledgeable and very friendly person to contact is Willard J. Scott (aka “Scotty) of their “Future Residents’ Task Force”, 703-743-1286. But tell them you don’t need an agent. I’m yours! HA!
